WHY DESIGNBAR?
DESIGNBAR was built on the idea that design should go beyond meeting expectations. It should push boundaries and create something people actually remember.
Every project starts with a clear goal: to create spaces that feel distinct, connect with people, and work in the real world. That means balancing creativity with purpose, and making sure every design decision supports the bigger picture, from brand identity to guest experience.
We work closely with owners, developers, and brands to simplify what can often be a complex process. The focus is always on delivering something thoughtful, well-executed, and built to perform.
At the end of the day, it’s about creating spaces that stand out for the right reasons. Spaces people come back to, talk about, and connect with.
We’re not here to design what’s expected. We’re here to create what stands apart.
Monika’s Design POV
-
Favorite Piece of Furniture
My original Barcelona chair. It’s proof that when design is done right, it doesn’t age, it just becomes more relevant. There’s a discipline to it that I respect; every line is intentional, nothing is decorative for the sake of it. That level of clarity is something I bring into every project.
-
Favorite Design Style
I don’t subscribe to one style. The best spaces aren’t formulaic, they’re layered. A little unexpected, and specific to the brand and the market. I tend to lean modern, but I’m more interested in tension than purity. That’s where design starts to feel elevated instead of predictable.
-
Bucket List Experience
The Monaco Grand Prix - but not just as a spectator. I’m interested in the full experience; the way luxury, precision, and energy come together so seamlessly. It’s a masterclass in how environment shapes perception, which is exactly what great hospitality design should do.

Dream Celebrity Client
Lenny Kravitz. He understands design as part of a larger lifestyle, not just aesthetics. I’m drawn to collaborators who have a strong point of view - it creates a better result. The goal wouldn’t be to match his vision, but to challenge it and elevate it into something unexpected.
